Crafted from antique elm, these solid planks have been charred using the ancient Japanese process of Yakisugi.
Once charred, our craftsmen have heavily brushed this elm by hand, removing the soft summer growth and leaving behind a beautiful pattern and texture. Yakisugi not only protects the planks from fire, infestation, and rot, prolonging the life of the wood, but it also adds a distinctive black and silvered coloring that will provide a talking-point in any interior.
The finish achieved using this ancient technique is protected using the modern influence of our Oilwood traffic lacquer, which assures that the tactile nature of the floor will retain its beauty throughout the years.
These solid reclaimed elm planks can be used on floors, walls, and ceilings.
