Hematite hosts interest in more ways than one.
Crafted using rare antique Elm boards, this floor already holds the tales of many a year with every natural burr, grain, and knoll.
Furthermore, this floor is yet another from our Carbonised portfolio that features a completely unique design format; circular shapes pair with straight planks and points, making Hematite one of our boldest floors. The distinctive silvery-black tones are softened by the gentle curves of the panel, producing a subtle effect with the natural markings and knots just visible beneath the blackened surface.
Produced from Antique Elm, the black color has been achieved using the ancient Japanese technique of Yakisugi. The practice has many names, but always involves the use of an open fire or controlled flame to char the wood before cooling, cleaning, and treating it with natural oils to create a dark visual style and unique tactile feel, linking your project back to the ancient Japanese world.
Architectural details are available upon request and are made to complement the tonal values of your floor. Maintaining this floor is effortless with our Care System 1.
